Luminaire Design -- Church lamp
Design a luminaire for church St.Nikolai(in Wismar).
Process
After plenty of sketches I want to use aspecial material to bring about the ideas, the feather. Then I began to collect the feather on the beach of Wismar every weekend. The feather mainly from swan. They arewhite and beautiful. I washed them andmade them dry. To build up a “cup shape” of feather, I studied the structure from the churchceiling. Following the “croin vault” stru-cture, I made a light weight frame by plastelast. Then attached the feather on the frame by the size from top to thebottom.I chose 3*60w incandescent bulb as thelight source. Because incandescent isan archaic kind of light source and it isreducing in the market. It can provides warm cozy yellow light, which is most suitable for the somber church.
Ideas:Light is protection. Light is cure.

Church is always the place where peoplecan find the soul sustenance. Church St. Nikolai was built of brick structure and has over 550 years history. Lighting should be in a classical form.

The first thing I thought when I saw the church is Angel. Which has big bueatiful wings and comes from sky. With the sunshine through it.
>>Holy Grail--Cure
In Christian mythology, the Holy Grailwas the dish, plate, cup or vessel that caught Jesus' blood during his crucifixion. It was said to have the power to heal all wounds.

Result
The lamp was hanged on the center ofone croin vault. It’s in front of a huge window and in a line with the existent luminaires. The natural material displaya cozy scene with the brick structure. Church is always the place where peoplecan find the soul sustenance.

Lighting project--Airrail Center Frankfurt
The AIRRAIL CENTER FRANKFURT is an architectural milestone. Through its exceptional design and innovative useconcept, at 660 metres in length and up to 65 metres in width, the building isin a class of its own. Situated directly above the airport’s ICE high-speed railway station, this futuristic landmark building is being developed at a unique interface between rail, road and air transport.The task is focus on the lighting designof the Hotel Hilton,which occupys oneend of the airail center.After analyzed the hotel lighting principles and the whole atmosphere of the airrail center, we want to create a feeling that making people escape from abusy world, the feeling of relax, comfort,cozy and freedom.We found the proximate feeling fromsky. The nature always becomes our in-spiration. It changes all the time and brings thousands of amazing images.

Lighting project--Temple Garden
This is a workshop we did in the first semester. The temple garden,which located in Neuruppin(a town in Brandenburg, Germany. ), is said to be a landmark of this area.
We were responsible for a lighting event hold in this park. Almost every local resident knows this park quite well. There are partettes, statues, trees and porches. They appeared in silence during the desolate winter.What we want to do is to creat an-other world, a world in fairy tale, a fairy tale praise the night.
After devided in groups, we started our work. Our group is in charge of lighten the statues, including 3 parterres, 8 big statues and 10 small ones. The positions are shown in the plan.

ProcessFor the shrubs: We hided christmas light into the shrubs around the “vase” statue. The shimmering light became softer in the shrubs and appeared like stars lyin’ in the ground.
We also used color changing strip LED under the scrubs. The LED were programed and changing very slow to make a fascinate rhythm.
For the statues:The oilcan was put into the “alter”. Fire can always keep a kind of magic charm, which call out natural imagine.
We fixed metal halide lamps in different places around the statues to find a best way of the lighting. Every sculpture has its own characteristic.The lighting strengthen them.
Result
The lighting event attracted hundredsof people came to visit. It was a bigactivity for neuruppin in that night. Some visitors were surprised when entering the garden. There were no spectacular green walls and red trees. Fires were burning in the shells, the Oriental Gate was shrouded in a mysterious warm light. At the traffic circle spread a network of small lights that floated like fireflies around the illuminated vases. Cold light and warm fire Gegenpohle formed andconnected individual garden areas.From the dark backdrop of sculptures or stone faces appeared, blue light, put the bizarre branches of trees and hedges in a mysterious scene. Illuminated by candles, the path wound its way up to the tower at the corner of the garden. What light brought us, is another world in the dark.

Lighting project--Freshman Party
Have a new start! Before everything was getting start in a new semester, we had already began our work. This is the first project we did in our study. Our task is design the lighting for a fresh-man party. Without any lighting experience, I tried to learn everything during the group work. We began with the Brainstorm. Plenty of ideas were born and we tried to realize them. Our main concept is: a colorful college life. Everyone in the begining of college would be full of expectations on thenew life. We wanted to create a pavonine space to attract people’s eyes. The party place is the hall of the Architecture and Design college. There are only general lighting and we would not use them. After few days of lighting experiments, a party was showing prototype.

Outdoor:We used colorful trees to show: there’sa party now. Due to the glass facade of the building, people can easily casta glance at the party lighting inside. We spread christmas light in the lawn aroundthe building to create a warm atmosphere.
Indoor:Entrance is always a very important part.We used magenta, green, blue and yellow light cross illuminate the white wall in theentrance. People can see their colorful shadow and getting excited before theygo into the party. Architecture students built some bars. And our main task was making lighting for each interesting bar. Up light to transparent balloon and painted nice shadow on the ceiling; green light in a mystery cupboard; yellow light in the pirate chest. We also use beamer to make dynamicimages(such as kaleidoscope) on thepillar. Many small part made up a colorful party.

T.L.--Touchable light
T.L. is a modular-system for public areas, like airports, shopping centers, hotel or company lobbies. You can it as a room devider, and in the same time it is an area to sit down and relax. This furniture makes it possible for you to hide from your stressed life and to relax in sparkling surrounding. The unusual plastic material in connection with fiber optic, is a special experience for your senses. With this concept you have the possibility to line up three kinds of modules in an endless way. You can decide whether you want to go through a light tunnel, to relax under a luminous curtain or want to look at the light play from a distance.

Light&Identifiability--fashion retail facade desgin
Our task is to design 5 classes of fashion retail facade in "Middle Class", "Low Class-Traditional", "High Class-Modern", "Low Class-Modern" and "High Class-Traditional ". After the design process we did a survey on line. The participator were told to choose the right class for the given pictures by some evaluation parameters. We compared the result with our estimation and analyzed which parameter could make more influence to the fashion retail facade.
Fastfood restaurant interior design
This is a national interior design compe-tition I did during my college. I got the third prize.The task is the interior design for a fast-food restaurant. I made the theme as a fastfood restaurant selling the food inthe sphericity shape. The form of the interior design is also follow the shapeof the food..It’s including the productdesgin such as tables,chairs and sofas.
